I'm Mobile!

It was a big week for Mils. First the tooth, now some mobility. She's crawl-scooting across the floor and it's adorable. Her main incentives to get moving seem to be car keys, a cell phone, and of course, Casey.

I haven't been able to photograph her in action yet, but here are some shots from the past week: at a dog-friendly beach on the Chesapeake Bay yesterday and a glimpse of Millie's 'spirited' attitude (also known by my mom as 'a taste of my own medicine').

A Tooth!

Millie on her "tooth-day", at a barbeque with Christopher's colleagues.

Without any fanfare, Millie woke up on Saturday morning with her first tooth. It's more like a sharp sliver in her bottom gum, but it's definitely a milestone. She didn't give us much warning...no meltdowns, no fever. She's just as happy as always.

We're also working on getting "chunkier" food into her repertoire, starting with Cheerios. The only one who seems very excited about this new effort is Casey!

Swimming with Friends

Lately we've been doing a lot of swimming with our friends from my Wednesday Bible Study / Mom's Group. We're working up the courage to actually go under water (that's MY courage, not Millie's), but for now she's very content to play in the baby pool or kick around with me in the big pool. Here's Millie and her friend Grace at the pool.

On Sunday we trekked out to the AT&T National golf tournament at Congressional Country Club. Seemed like a brilliant plan: 95 degree heat PLUS mandatory silence PLUS lots of walking PLUS small baby! But with Grandma and Grandpa's help, we had a really great day. Millie was so happy and good, and Christopher especially loved introducing her to golf.

Happy Fourth of July!

We celebrated with Millie's first baseball game -- Nats vs. Cubs -- and fireworks on the lawn of the Capitol. What a perfect day.
