Beep Beep

A cute (but long) video of Millie playing with our friends, the Sanzi's. We need to catch her in a more spontaneous moment, but one of the most endearing things she is doing now is saying "beep beep" as she backs up to sit down on something. Usually it's with a book in hand, looking for a snuggle on your lap. Sometimes it starts in our upstairs hallway as she backs up on her knees to go down the stairs. In this case she's trying to sit on the lid of a sandbox and on the back of a big-wheel. So cute.

California, here we come!

This is wrong for so very many reasons. Here's Millie killing some time in the hotel getting ready for a diaper change and apparently keeping up with the drama of young Hollywood. Hmmm...I have no idea where she might have picked up such a trashy magazine...

Spinnin' with Dad

We're home from a great get-away up in Rhode Island last week. Christopher was at a training course in Newport for two weeks, so Millie and I joined him at the end. We were able to see family in CT and stay with our friends near Providence over the weekend. Lots of photos of our vacation adventures to share in the posts that follow, but here are some cute shots of Mils and Christopher working in the church nursery before we left (Christopher would like to reiterate that he does not commonly wear an apron around our house -- it's mandatory for nursery service).

And here are three generations on Mother's Day. I'd like to say that my puffy-face syndrome is due to the early hour of the day, but I think it's a constant state in these last weeks of pregnancy. Lovely.

First Pig Tails, First Bribe

Next sign that Millie is a big girl: all that crazy curly hair finally fits into two little pig tails. It was a real wrasslin' match (as my Iowa Grandma would say) getting them in, but I almost cried at the cuteness once the dust settled.

You might also note the special socks she's sporting this afternoon. Yes, those were a full-on bribe transacted in the middle of Target. It goes against whatever parenting strategy I'm trying to develop, but at the time, $1.00 was a small price to pay for a little peace in the greeting card aisle.
